British Columbia Regulation First Aid Kits - WorkSafeBC (2024)
New Updated WorkSafeBC (2024) Compliant First Aid Kits
On November 1, 2024, WorkSafeBC’s new first aid regulation comes into effect. Businesses will have to complete a new first aid assessment to determine their risk level and the appropriate first aid kits required.
For help determining the appropriate type of first aid kit needed, please consult WorkSafeBC First Aid Requirements.
The new BC First Aid Kits are based on the CSA Z1220-17 Standard for workplace first aid kits and are classified according to the risk level of the workplace. Generally
Personal First Aid Kit : May be suitable for individuals who are working alone or for vehicles
Basic First Aid Kit: May be suitable for low-risk workplaces, such as offices and retail.
Intermediate First Aid Kit : May be suitable for medium-risk environments, such as warehouses.
Advanced First Aid Kit : May be suitable for high-risk workplaces, such as manufacturing, construction, and mining.
